Myofascial Pain (Muscular) Explained

Millions of Americans suffer from myofascial pain.

by Sanjay Trivedi, M.D.

Studies show that many back pains, neck pains, headaches, shoulder pains, arm pains, postural pains, etc. are caused by injured fascia—a connective tissue that covers our muscles. The areas where this injury is, are called Myofascial Trigger Points (MTrPs), and are located within taut bands of skeletal muscle fibers. They are thus called because they cause pain not only to the specific location, but also to other parts of the body, when touched or pressed even lightly.

There is a pattern in our bodies that we call “the panic pattern.”

Hypothetically, let’s say a lion walks into the room.  You have two choices:

Brain and Body Talk: Stop Stress or Injury Cycles

Chiropractic helps stop stress response

by Long Van, D.C.

The body and brain function as a unit. Any form of stress or injury anywhere in the body will trigger the brain to attack that injury. If your brain focuses on that injury area too much, it neglects other functions of the body, creating an imbalance. It is, thus, important to take care of that injury as soon as possible—to stop the stress cycle—so that the body and brain continue to function at optimal levels.

Chiropractic Care for Seniors

In cases when drugs and surgery may not be appropriate, chiropractic care may be an option to treat seniors safely and effectively

by Luz F. Senan, D.C.

Prior to attending chiropractic college I worked as a Case Manager and Geriatric Mental Health Counselor. I was fascinated by my patient’s great stories about chiropractic care and how their chiropractors were helping them with their pain and encouraging them to keep more active and healthy. That intrigued me, and for the first time I went to visit a chiropractor. The rest is history.

by Deric D’Agostino, D.C.

“Look well to the spine for the cause of disease.” – Hippocrates

Yep, the same Hippocrates that MD’s worldwide take “the oath”  the Hippocratic oath……the original father of modern medicine, the Grand Poobah of health.  Even he said look to the spine.  Why would he say such a thing?  Well, he was kind of a smart Greek guy.    But for today we’ll start with the human frame.  Try and imagine that with all things considered, all we are is a brain and spinal cord……  THAT’S IT!!!
