Auto Accident Injury
In a vehicular accident, within 1/8 of a second upon impact, the human body will be thrust forwards, backwards, side to side with an incredible amount of force. Soft tissues are instantly ripped and stretched, and joints will lock up, commonly resulting in disk injury. If left untreated, scar tissue can cause chronic pain in the body.
Headaches
Most of us unfortunately experience a headache every now and then. There is a broad spectrum of reasons why we experience headaches and other issues that contribute to their severity. Headaches can be caused by a concussion, a tumor, vision trouble, cranial nerve issues, diet, and or joint dysfunction.
Neck Pain
Neck pain is a very common problem in our country. Working at a desk for 8-10 hours per day straining our heads forward to look at an ill positioned screen, looking down at our cell phones 200 times a day, and slouching will cause an increased pressure on our necks and upper backs. Humans have a head that weighs approximately 10 lbs as the ear is positioned over the shoulder.
Slip and Fall
Many people have slips and falls in restaurants, movie theatres, sidewalks, apartment complexes. Injuries sustained in a slip and fall can mirror those of a motor vehicle accident. Compression forces on the neck, back, upper and lower extremities can be severe. A slip and fall accident can cause a myriad of injuries depending on how you fall and the way you land.
Back Pain
Most of us have had a bout with back pain at some point in our lives. In fact, over 100 million Americans have back pain on a continual basis. There are many reasons for this including auto accidents, slip and falls, obesity, weak musculature, and pathologies to name a few. Vertebral disks in the spine can deteriorate, leak, bulge and press on vital nerves and/or the spinal cord.
Joint Pain
Joint pain can occur at any age, however, many of us find that after 40 we start to feel aches and pains that we never felt in our 20’s and 30’s. Joint pain tends to catch up to us as we age. It could stem from car accidents, our diets, youth sports, or from walking around with poor posture for years. Just because you may be currently experiencing joint pain doesn’t mean that you have to live with it forever.
Work Injury
We can spend up to 8-12 hours of our day at work. We may be sitting, standing, lifting bending etc… the amount of forces we put on our skeletal structure can be immense. The chances of getting hurt at work can be high depending on the profession. We see injuries sustained at work from construction workers to desk jobs.
Sciatica
The sciatic nerve begins in the lower back and travels down into the leg were it becomes one long thick nerve. Sciatic pain symptoms may be expressed by pain, numbness and/or tingling in the leg and the foot. The sciatic nerve passes by the piriformis muscle which is located in the buttocks. It is a notoriously tight muscle which can affect the sciatic nerve as well, in fact in 20% of the population the sciatic nerve actually will pierce this muscle.
