I use various techniques to adjust people’s spine. One of the techniques I use a lot and love is called Koren Specific Technique or KST. It’s a unique technique that analyzes thru occipital drop (your skull bone or occiput dropping a little on one side when your body is stressed). The KST chiropractic spinal adjustment will quickly locate the main subluxations (locked joints) and allows me to remove them.
This technique has an order to which subluxations should be removed. It is a vitalistic approach—allowing the body\’s natural healing forces to act in the utmost way, and in the way that is personalized and extracted from the unique needs of the individual patient. The vitalistic approach works on the premise that living organisms are fundamentally different from non-living things because they are governed by different elemental principles. KST is in harmony with the vitalistic approach as are general chiropractic principles.
Another very cool thing about KST chiropractic adjustment is that I can actually put the person in the posture of subluxation (POS). An example is if someone has rib pain when they play guitar, I will have them play guitar while I adjust them. The joint may only lock up in that position or the order of subluxation will be different in the guitar playing position than it would be if they were laying down. I have put people in the POS who were in auto accidents or slips and falls with tremendous success.
There is an element of mental stressors that will cause subluxations as well. I have treated people who have anxiety while driving in a car after a motor vehicle accident (MVA). I will have them talk to me about the emotions they feel when a car drives up behind them quickly, and as they start ramping up with emotions I start adjusting whatever locks up—again, using KST chiropractic adjustment.
I had treated a woman with many serious health conditions and her sister wanted to put her in a wheel chair. She had told me this for about a month\’s time. She would become passionately angry about this since she prided herself to be independent. So one day I said tell me about your sister. As she did and her anger increased, I began to adjust what subluxations that were only showing in this angry state, using KST chiropractic adjustment.
The following week I asked her about her sister and the wheelchair and she, with complete indifference, said “Ehh I think I’ll just get it.”
Since that time I have had countless examples to prove this true—chiropractic works in any form but this KST chiropractic adjustment is the icing on the cake for me.
