There are non-medication ways to release the panic pattern. In the chiropractic world, they are called “adjustments.”

There is a pattern in our bodies that we call “the panic pattern.”
Hypothetically, let’s say a lion walks into the room. You have two choices:
- Kill the lion, or
- Run through the wall like a cartoon character.
When we get stressed our body goes into fight or flight mode. This state is called the “panic pattern”:
- Our sternum rises up like a shield to protect the heart and gives more space for the heart to pump and the lungs to expand. Why? Because you will need everything you’ve got to kill the lion (i.e. a pregnant mother lifting a car off her baby.)
- Our upper back and lower neck vertebrae pop up like a dog’s hair. As the vertebrae pop up, they force the chin to lower and protect the throat, because that is how the lion will kill us.
- Our tail bone tucks under, like a dog would tuck its tail. We have meninges or membranes that anchor our brain and spinal cord, some of which are attached to the tail bone. These are made up of dura mater, arachnoid mater, and pia mater (which should not be confused with Nina, Pinta and Santa Maria of The Pilgrims).
So now lets put it all together: The lion walks, the sternum rises, the lower neck pops up, the tail bone tucks under and pulls on the nervous system. This keeps us in a state of stress, anxiety, fear, worry, or anger, resulting in all kinds of body pains such as back pains, neck pains, shoulder pains, and headaches.
I see people every day that are constantly stressed out from work, home, or just life in general—in a perennial fight or flight mode. Don’t think you can stay this way without affecting your health seriously in the long run. You will need to unlock or release your panic pattern, to reset your body and put it back to its original wonderful state.
There are non-medication ways to release this panic pattern. In the chiropractic world, they are called “adjustments.” To know more, come see me at Absolute Injury and Pain Physicians. Make an appointment today!
